Save on Fuel Today with These Great Discounts
So, where should you begin? AA Smartfuel? FlyBuys? Farmlands? Supermarket receipts?
There are plenty of ways to save on your next fill-up – here are some you can take advantage of ASAP.
Save Up to 6/cl and Earn Rewards with the AA Smartfuel Program
The AA Smartfuel program allows you to take advantage of fuel savings at BP and G.A.S service stations where you can pay 6 cents per litre on the first 50 litres when you spend $40 or more on fuel at participating service stations. It’s free to join, and all you need to do is grab a AA Smartfuel card from any of the program’s partners, such as bp, GAS, and Countdown, or use your existing AA Membership card. The program can be accessed digitally by downloading the AA Smartfuel app.
Also, by shopping normally at any of the program’s 1,200+ retail partners, you can accumulate fuel discounts by swiping your card or scanning your app with each qualifying purchase. To redeem the accumulated discounts, it is important to fill up at bp or GAS, where the discounts can be applied to each litre of fuel. The discounts can only be applied to up to 50 litres of fuel and can also be redeemable for other rewards instantly.
Any savings must be redeemed by the end of the following calendar month before they expire. Members of the AA Smartfuel program will occasionally have the opportunity to receive an additional 10 cents off per litre of fuel, which you’d receive an email about the day before.
Note: As a bonus, Contact Energy customers can receive an additional 30 cents off per litre of fuel, once every month.
Save Up to 10c/l at Z and Caltex with the Pump Rewards Program
As a fuel card holder, you are eligible for a daily fuel discount of 6 cents per litre when you fill up at any Z or Caltex petrol station. This discount can be redeemed by scanning your card during the payment process, whether in-store or at the pump.
Meanwhile, Wednesdays are Super Pumped Days where you can get bigger savings.
Save 10c per litre of fuel when you fill up on Wednesday. Or spend $40 or more and stack your 10c per litre discount for bigger savings later. Make sure you have the Z App to keep track of all your savings.
Furthermore, by using your fuel card, you will also be able to earn your usual Fly Buys or Airpoints Dollars. If you are not currently a member of the Fly Buys or Airpoints loyalty program, you can easily sign up online and start taking advantage of these savings today.
Note: Fuel discount applies to the first 50 litres only, and a minimum $40 spend applies when stacking. Stacked balances expire at the end of the month following the month in which they were earned. This offer excludes fuel card and Sharetank purchases.
Save Up to 12/cl at Z, Caltex and Challenge with Farmlands
Save 12 cents per litre with a Farmlands card at Challenge, Z, and Caltex service stations. With over 550 fuel locations, your Farmlands card can be used at any Challenge, Caltex, and Z service station, truck stop, or diesel stop. It’s important to note the savings will appear as a rebate on your monthly Farmlands account statement, rather than as a discount at the time of purchase.
Farmlands also offers a fuel card option. The Z Business card, links to your Farmlands account, and works like your Farmlands card but is only for purchases at Challenge, Caltex, or Z service stations in New Zealand, also allows you to receive the same rebate as your Farmlands card.
Save on Fuel with New World FuelUp Vouchers
You can earn great Fuelup vouchers every time you shop at any New World store. These vouchers can be used at any Z nationwide or participating service station. To gain an everyday discount, you only need to spend $1 or more. New World also offer other promotional discounts from time to time which may require you to spend more to gain the discount offered. Check your supermarket fuel voucher for the current offer.
If you’re a Farm Source Rewards Card holder (formerly a SuperCard holder), you can save up to 16c/l on fuel at Mobile, 12c/l at Z, BP, Caltex & Challenge, and 6c/l at Waitomo fuel stations. The Rewards Card works like a credit or EFTPOS card – when you make purchases from any participating retailer. Meanwhile, all Farm Source Rewards cardholders can access discounts at over 2,000 retailers around the country, like Carter’s, Bunnings and more. There are no annual fees with a Rewards Card and they are available for all customers – all you need is a Farm Source account.
Save on Fuel with Pak’n Save’s Sticky Club
Pak’n Save’s Sticky Club is a loyalty program that rewards customers for their purchases at participating Pak’n Save stores in the South Island of New Zealand. With this program, customers can earn discounts on fuel for every $20 spent in a single transaction, and can also earn extra fuel savings from specially marked products in-store and on bonus days. For example if you spent $200, you’d earn 10c/l off fuel.
To join the program, you simply need to pick up a Sticky Club tag in-store and swipe it at the checkout every time they shop to earn their fuel discounts. It’s important to note that certain products like tobacco, cigarettes, phone cards, gift cards and lottery products do not qualify for fuel discounts.
