Flex Fuel

A flexible-fuel vehicle (FFV) or dual-fuel vehicle is an alternative fuel vehicle with a combustion engine capable of running on hybrid or blended fuel (mixed with more than one fuel) as well as on petrol alone. The blends are generally of petrol and higher ethanol concentrations (51 – 83 per cent ethanol). These vehicles are common across Europe and North America, but not as much in Australia. The most common ethanol blends in Australia are E10 and E85, both suitable alternatives to unleaded petrol.
