Tare

Tare Mass refers to the weight of a motor vehicle with all the accessories fitted when it’s ready to be driven but not carrying a driver, passengers, or luggage/cargo. It’s measured in such condition with 10 litres of fuel in the tank and all other fluid reservoirs filled to maximum capacity. The weight is expressed in kg or tonnes.

Tare Mass or Weight, similar to other weight measurements such as Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), Kerb Mass, and Gross Combination Mass (GCM), is a measurement unit that manufacturers publish about a vehicle in brochures as well as on the vehicle’s compliance plates.
